Meet the Doctor
I love meeting people, creating healthy smiles, and helping people feel good about themselves. I’ve treated so many patients who tell me that they don’t know how to smile, or always cover their mouths when they do, because they don’t like how their teeth look. It’s so rewarding, after treatment, to hear those patients say that they now feel more confident. I believe that orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics is more than just straight teeth and enjoy being able to offer my patients a full facial balancing approach. In my treatment planning, I consider not only the teeth and jaws but also the associated facial structures to get optimal outcomes for my patients. In adults that means offering and, if they so choose, incorporating fillers and Botox into their treatment for the most favorable dentofacial results. It’s also so fulfilling for me to help patients with orofacial pain find relief through modalities like Botox or cold laser therapy. I enjoy teaching and sharing my passion for what I do and am honored to be faculty for the American Academy of Facial Esthetics.
My journey to becoming an orthodontist started when my aunt, an orthodontist, determined that I was ready for braces at the age of ten. I was amazed at how my teeth were getting more aligned– it was like magic! I decided that I wanted to help people in this way when I got older. To that end, I attended UCLA, where I graduated Magna Cum Laude with a degree in psychobiology. I went on to earn my DDS degree at UCLA’s School of Dentistry, where I was awarded the Dean’s Scholarship, and was in the top 10% of my class. My residency took me across the country to Pennsylvania for three years, where I received my certificate in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics at the University of Pittsburgh. While there, I earned my master’s degree in dental science and was awarded the Dean’s Scholarship for Excellence in Research. After returning to California, I worked in a high-paced orthodontic office for 8 years before I decided to establish Massih Orthodontics in 2017 in my hometown of Glendale. Since then, I’ve trained in injectables with the American Academy of Facial Esthetics, the world-famous Julie Horne (known for her amazing lip filler technique), the Aesthetic Immersion, and celebrity injector Dr. Doan. I currently teach Botox and fillers to dentists, physicians, and nurses with the American Academy of Facial Esthetics.
I’ve treated thousands of wonderful children and adults, helping them transform their teeth, smiles, and self-esteem. I can’t wait to help *you* discover your smile!
